Celebrate Fertile Days, Aug. 9-11
The town of Fertile encourages the public to come and help them celebrate 2024 Fertile Days, Friday, Aug. 9 through Sunday, Aug. 11. There are many activities planned—something for everyone.
The weekend kicks off Friday, with a 9 p.m. movie at the Fertile Library. The Fertile Little League will be providing free popcorn.
Saturday activities include:
Firemen’s Breakfast at the Community Center, serving from 7-10 a.m. The Community Center is located at 3494 Eagle Ave.
A 5K Walk/Run will be held, with registration at the Community Center starting at 7:30 a.m. The Walk/Run starts at 8 a.m. at the Community Center. A registration fee is required.
The book sale will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. at the library. Fertile Days t-shirts will also be available for purchase.
The parade will be downtown beginning at 10:30 a.m. Bring the kids and stay after the parade for family games and races on the tennis court or head up to the Fire Station and enjoy a ride in a fire truck. Food vendors will be in the park.
A cupcake walk will be held in front of Fertile Beans, located in downtown Fertile.
From Noon to 2 p.m., there will be a Foam Cannon at the Library and inflatables for the children and face painting at the park until 3 p.m.
Other fun activities at the park include Rad Zoo, Dragon Fire dancing horses, Mr. Potato Head contest for children as well as adults.
Come join in a Bags Tournament at 3 p.m. at the park. Bring your own bags.
Also, Saturday, a Community meal will be served from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Community Center. Following the meal, enjoy a game of bingo until 8 p.m.
That evening, Borderline Band will be performing from 7 p.m. until midnight at the ball diamond. Borderline Band is known for their country music and occasionally Rock ‘n Roll. There will be an intermission from 9:15-10 p.m. for fireworks, weather permitting. Concession stands will be open at the ball diamond at this time.
Sunday, Aug. 11, a Community picnic will be hosted by the Church of Christ and Fertile Lutheran Church. If there is rain, the location will change to the Fertile Lutheran Church.
