The Lake Mills Holiday Festival will be held Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7-8.
The weekend starts with the Twilight Tour of Homes, Friday evening, from 5-7 pm. Tickets will be available at each home (see the ad on page 4 for the list of homes). Shop for Christmas gifts at the Vendor Boutique which will be held at the Truman Helgeson Civic Center, from 5-8 p.m. Friday evening, and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday morning.
This year, try your hand at making lefse from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday morning, in the lower level of the Civic Center, during the first ever Make-Your-Own-Lese Line at the Holiday Festival. One free piece per person. You may also make or purchase a dozen. All proceeds will benefit the 2019 LM Sesquicentennial Celebration.
The Lake Mills Public Library will be offering several activities for children and adults. Children may decorate a gingerbread house and make an ornament. Adults will be offered a Holiday Banner craft.
Santa will visit with children at The Mills Theatre from Noon-1:30 p.m. and then at 1:30 p.m. a free movie, “Arthur’s Christmas,” will be shown.
When the sun sets, drive around Lake Mills and vote for your favorite decorated home in the Christmas Lighting Contest. A map will be available Saturday at the Lake Mills Public Library, the LMCDC office, The Mills Theatre, or the Civic Center during the Holiday Festival. Maps and ballots can be picked up at the LMCDC office and the Public Library in the week following the festival. If you would like to register your home for the Lighting Contest, the entry form is on page 3 of this issue, or you may enter online at www.lakemillsia.org/christmas-lights-contest.
